About Cosmetic & Laser Specialists
Cosmetic & Laser Specialists (CLS) is comprised of three elements: educating physicians and their staff to incorporate laser and esthetician treatments into their existing practices, training and certification for cosmetic procedures, and ongoing consulting with physicians for continuing education and business development. CLS was originated by Richard C. Mattison, MD, a plastic surgeon, L. Jack Cheng, MD, Ph.D., specializing in anti-aging and aesthetic medicine, and Candela Laser Corporation. Using techniques developed by CLS, Dr. Mattison expanded his practice with the hiring of Beth Anne Holcombe, a Clinical Esthetician, to develop the spa services within the practice.
The spa services provide patients with a way to prepare the skin for upcoming surgeries, facilitate post-surgical recovery, and prolong the benefits of surgery with regular maintenance treatments. By listening to the needs of the patients, CLS has incorporated state of the art medical lasers to accommodate non-surgical methods of treating wrinkles, leg and facial veins, brown and age spots, acne treatment, and hair removal.
Dr. Cheng, a pioneer in anti-aging medicine, incorporates techniques such as injectable dermal fillers, hormone therapy, mesotherapy, and nutriceuticals into an overall wellness program designed to improve the quality of life for CLS patients. The success of CLS proves that with the proper training and consulting, any physician can become successful at adding new elements to their existing practice and expanding the range of services offered to their patients.
